Aeration

Aeration in the pond is essential, especially in the summer. Oxygen is lower when the water temperature is warmer, and is used quickly by the fish, as well as absorbed by plants during the hours of darkness, so it is important to add additional air. This can be done easily and effectively with an air pump! Extra air in the filter will increase activity in there too! Also an air pump is useful in the winter to ensure an ice free area remains.
