Aquajardin Southampton announces phase 2 of Water gardening display
25-01-2008

The spacious, external grounds at Aquajardin Southampton have seen major development in the last few years to offer a unique area for inspiration. With fully installed water features and ponds, the gardens allow customers to browse the areas to help generate ideas and also to demonstrate the technical aspects of putting together a water feature.

Due to heavy rains of 2007 and huge customer demand, it was necessary to halt development and to divide the massive amount of work into two phases. The initial phases saw the installation of an Eastern inspired pool with natural stone waterfall, inspired by Japanese gardening, also a tropical splash pool with exotic planting and suited water features and sculptures. An intricate project was a water wheel fixed within a Cotswold stone wall. This particular feature proved problematic with getting flow rates correct and the splashing contained! Another beautiful feature is a contemporary formal pond, built using stainless steel spills, cut stone and decking.

Phase 2 of the project sees the installation of a large wildlife pond with a special cottage feature, and a proposed well. There are also plans for a Moroccan style courtyard. Another interesting feature will be the 'City gardens' an area of 1 metre squared gardens to offer inspiration for smaller spaces, patios and roof gardens. Plans are to see completion before Eater, keep up-to-date with the website to see the exciting developments.
