| All the Koi that pass through our stores are of English origin. We have only sold British bred Koi since 2002 after some health issues were discovered with imported Koi from around the world. The problems that have been experienced throughout the trade from imported Koi have been highly researched by laboratories across the world. Immediate steps were taken when the industry discovered a problem and the health issues have now been virtually resolved. Koi are big business and the exporters have worked hard to rectify the problems.
A majority of our Koi originate from Cuttlebrook Koi Farm in Oxfordshire and have been hand selected by Aquajardin staff. We make regular trips to the farm to ensure we have a varied mix of fish for our stores. Cuttlebrook are one of the UK’s leading Koi breeders and only supply fish that they have bred themselves, from their own brood stock of top quality Japanese fish.
